About Me

Anwesha from Going Places with Anwesha

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog. My name is Anwesha. I am born and brought up in the city of joy – Kolkata but currently reside in Bangalore for work. Even though I have a full-time job, I am an avid traveler and a big-time foodie.

Like most of you out there; I am neither a hardcore backpacker nor a luxury traveler. I struggle to find a balance in between and want to explore the world on my terms. I love to take vacations. As much as I love exploring newer places, I also like to see the main attractions of a destination. As much as I want to look forward to digital nomadic life, I like the comforts of my snug home.

I mostly travel with my husband who is my constant support (and is the unofficial photographer of this blog). I also like traveling with friends or family and believe with the right company, the journey becomes more beautiful.

When I am not traveling or working, I like to binge-watch TV series on my laptop and find watching movies a great way to unwind. Growing up, I learned Bharat Natyam and even though I don’t dance anymore, I still have a huge love for it.

About the blog

Going Places with Anwesha is all about my experiences, mishaps, and stories as I travel across India and around while trying to understand the people, places, cultures, and cuisines. The blog is about traveling smart with proper planning and budgeting. Sometimes the cheapest way is not always the best way to travel.

My aim is to provide travel guides where I would share my experiences and the lessons learned on the way so that you travel well and smart. I hope my travel stories encourage you to live your dreams, even if they are not related to travel.

A fun fact about me is that my name: Anwesha means to search. ‘Searching’ is an indisposable part of our lives.

Stop searching the world for treasures, the real treasure is in yourself.
